or ICAN as we call it


ICAN is a registered Charity funded by the Big Lottery Fund that was created to provide the residents of West Lancashire with advice, training and support on a range of issues.

Concentrating on those areas that can affect many people, such as Employment Law, Welfare Benefits Entitlements, Debt and bridging the Digital Divide, ICAN offers a FREE confidential service to anyone who lives or works in West Lancs.

ICAN also provides Training and Support in Basic I.T. Skills, Internet and Email, C.V. Assistance, Online Job Search, Free Internet Access, Community Groups and Services Training and Support – we provide outreach services across West Lancs in local areas to suit the community requirements.

Throughout the last year ICAN has assisted over 1000 people with Employment, Welfare and Money advice.  By helping people cope with tribunals, welfare entitlements and debt ICAN has generated over £1million into the local economy.  

The IT Suite has assisted over 500 people in the last year, of particular note is the personalised CV Service and assisted job search facility which has enabled many people to attain employment.
