eDDC – E-Digital Competence Certificate Scheme Princes Trust

ICAN is pleased to announce they are now registered with the eDCC as part of The Prince’s Trust, the eDCC is an informal award scheme which focuses on recognising information technology and digital media achievements. The scheme does not work directly with learners but through approved centres, such as ICAN, who in turn deliver training that leads to the eDCC assessments and certificates.

The assessments are aimed at helping learner’s improve their IT and digital media skills, enhancing employment opportunities, routes to further education and productive leisure time and assist people cross the digital divide.

ICAN aims to provide individual and group learning sessions at the Digmoor Community Resource Centre and also at outreach locations throughout the West Lancashire District. Courses will be aimed at all skill levels of computer users, from Basic up to Advanced.

Some people may wish to develop a new skill or leisure activity therefore courses in Digital Photography or PC Hardware may be applicable. For people who are currently working and wish to increase their knowledge a course in mail merge, presentation development or graphs and charts for example may further their career prospects.

As part of the holistic approach ICAN takes to individuals, for people who may be currently un-working or seeking new skills, the new ICT abilities learnt can be added to the individual’s CV which may help to improve and further employment opportunities.

After successfully passing a level, a Certificate of Achievement will be awarded as all courses are accredited.
